Our Mission …
Endorsing the priesthood of all believers, Trinity MCC shall, in a united effort, empower its members to bring the good news of the gospel to all people.

Our Grounds …
Trinity MCC was founded in 1983 in Gainesville, Florida. In 1987, its members purchased seven acres of land outside the city limits, and began construction of the Sanctuary. The church property is part of a thirty-acre Live Oak hammock. The worship space was completed in 1991, and a social hall and screened porches were added in 2000 and 2003.

Trinity MCC is committed to maintaining our property as a place of peace and tranquility, keeping much of the surroundings in its natural state. A nature trail and Memorial Walk meander within the perimeter of the grounds. The Walk connects to an outdoor amphitheater and the labyrinth.

Our Worship Community …
The Trinity MCC worship community is drawn from Gainesville, Ocala, Lake City, Bronson, and a large rural area that borders the Gulf coast. Our congregation is composed of a wide diversity of religious and cultural backgrounds. Our goal is to continue to be a house of prayer where all people have the potential to experience God’s presence. Our Sunday service is a traditional liturgical format flavored with contemporary, liturgical and classical music. We celebrate the Eucharist every Sunday, and all people are welcome at the Table.

Our Beliefs …
Trinity MCC is a progressive, non-creedal Christian community that embraces the principles and teachings from the social gospel of Jesus. Our core beliefs are embodied in our deep desire to be an all-inclusive, diverse, and celebratory community. Our two sacraments are Baptism and the Eucharist, though we embrace and practice other blessings and rituals, including Weddings, Holy Unions, Rites of the Sick, and Memorials.

We believe that God loves all people equally, a love that was exemplified by Jesus. Following Jesus' teachings, we uphold the integrity and dignity of all of God’s people.

The Global Community …

Trinity MCC is part of the global network of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, comprised of some 300 churches in 22 countries with over 43,000 members worldwide. For more information visit http://www.mccchurch.org/

Our Labyrinth …
The labyrinth is an ancient device used for meditation and spiritual reflection. Unlike mazes, labyrinths have no tricks or dead ends, but consist of a single continuous path that leads to the center. The labyrinth is a metaphor for the inner journey. When a participant reaches that center space, the invitation is open to meditate on the inner life, clear one’s mind, or let the voice of Spirit speak within.

In the winter of 2000-01, work began on constructing a permanent Cretan Labyrinth on the grounds of the church. Laid out in a natural clearing, canopied by Live Oaks, the labyrinth is 56 feet across and covers an area of almost 2,000 sq. feet.

Initially made with ropes and wood stakes, the ropes have gradually been overlaid with stones. Visitors are always welcome to bring personal stones and place them along the labyrinth path. Some of our stones are from sacred places all around the world.
